With Halloween and Guy Fawkes’ Night out of the way, Christmas will be here before you know it! You may have seen our recent blog about the launch of our 2021 Christmas Campaign, collecting donations for our service users in refuge and the community.
Here’s a reminder of how to donate gifts to our campaign, and some other ways you can support Leeway in the run up to Christmas by getting retailers to donate money on your behalf each time you shop with them!
Christmas Campaign
As a quick reminder to supporters, we are looking for new/unused toys, games and board games, arts and craft materials, toiletries and gift sets, as well as chocolates, biscuits and selection boxes.
Alongside our Christmas Campaign, we also have a CrowdFunder page set up where supporters can donate money to enable us to buy presents.
The closing date for drop-offs is 17th December, with full information about the Campaign available on our blog.
Raise Money as You Shop
There are a few sites where you can raise money for Leeway as you shop at no extra cost to you!
Leeway receive a percentage of your total spend from the retailer and many of the platforms have several well-known high street and online brands signed up.
EasyFundraising is one of the sites that we are signed up to and it is really simple to get started and raise money for Leeway.
Simply follow the link to our Easy Fundraising page and click “support this cause” – you will then be prompted to sign up, which is totally free.
Once signed up, you can raise money for Leeway whilst you shop at places like eBay, Argos, M&S and much more!
Amazon Smile
Amazon runs its own scheme to raise money for charities as you shop on their site called Amazon Smile.
To raise money for Leeway, all you have to do is visit https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ and sign-in to your Amazon account as you would normally do so.
You will then be asked which charity you would like to support. Search for Leeway in the search box and then click to select to choose us.
You will be redirected to the main Amazon page where you can search and buy items as you normally would.
With EasyFundraising and Amazon Smile, Leeway receives a percentage of what you spend directly from the retailer – meaning it comes at no extra cost to you!
