2024 is underway and is a special year for Leeway as it marks our 50th anniversary! It promises to be an exciting year for everyone involved with Leeway, which we hope to celebrate with events and campaigns throughout the year.

Our Journey
Starting with a £200 grant from Norwich City Council and a handful of volunteers, Leeway has grown considerably over the past 50 years and now has a team of over 100 staff members supporting people across Norfolk and Suffolk.
It has been a long journey, but the goal has always remained the same: to provide support for those experiencing domestic abuse. This goal has helped us to support thousands of people across our local community, and seen us campaign alongside other organisations to deliver lasting change.
In recent years we have seen specific legislation around coercive control introduced, the first Domestic Abuse Act passed through parliament, as well as further policies to tackle violence against women and girls.
There have been many people that have helped us along this journey and we hope that this year will give us the chance to bring everyone that has supported us together to celebrate.
Supporting Leeway
We hope to have several events across Norfolk and Suffolk throughout the year, bringing supporters together to celebrate our special milestone and raise money, and awareness, to continue to support the work that we do.
Our newly updated events page has details of some of those that have been confirmed already, with further fundraising and awareness events added in due course! We always have a range of events throughout the year so there is something for everyone!
You can also hold your own fundraising events to raise money for Leeway, whether that is taking part in a marathon or running event, holding a bake sale in your workplace, putting on your own quiz night, or something completely different.
