Skydive Fundraising Event Returns

05 July 2023

charity skydive

After a break of a few years, we are holding a charity Skydive again, raising money to support people experiencing domestic abuse in our local area.

It has been a popular event over the years, as people complete the bucket list challenge, whilst raising money for charity. Supporters now have the chance to sign up for this year’s event – however, places are limited so you need to be quick!

Taking Part in the Next Leeway Skydive

The Skydive is taking place on Sunday 10th September at Beccles Airfield, subject to the weather conditions on the day.

Those taking part will climb to over 10,000 feet in an aeroplane before jumping out and descending with a qualified instructor, whilst taking in some spectacular views of the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline and countryside.

All participants will receive a safety briefing from a qualified instructor, who will brief you about all the stages of the skydive. It is the perfect opportunity to tick something off your bucket list or try something new, all whilst raising money for a good cause.

Places are limited though, so we are encouraging people to email fundraising@leewaynwa.org.uk to book their place early to avoid missing out.

We are asking that all participants commit to meeting a fundraising target, with all funds raised from the event going to Leeway’s services and also NIDAS – a partner of Leeway that offers a countywide service.

What is NIDAS?

NIDAS (Norfolk Integrated Domestic Abuse Service) is a domestic abuse service offering a range of one to one and group work to support those assessed at high or medium risk of serious harm, in Norfolk.

Leeway is one of the partners involved in delivering the service, which has been running for around 18 months after launching in January 2022.

The service offers free, confidential, and non-judgemental support for adults (16+) of all genders, and their children, to help them recover and build a new life free from abuse.

Money raised from the event will go towards enhancing and sustaining Leeway’s service, including those provided by NIDAS too.

For more information about NIDAS, the service has a dedicated website.
