Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse in our Communities

Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse in our Communities

The summer has finally begun, and it has already been a busy couple of months for our fundraising and events team, raising awareness of the important work that we do across Norfolk and Suffolk.

We have attended events across both counties, meeting countless people, and have been hugely grateful for the support we have received.

We have so much more planned over the coming months though, so we hope to see some more of our wonderful supporters!

Where have we been?

We were delighted to have a stand at both the Royal Norfolk Show and the Suffolk Show – two marquee events for both counties, attended by thousands of people across both days.

Over the past few months, we have also done a series of roadshow events within the local community, raising awareness of the important work that we do and how people can get involved.

We have been to Wells, Holt, Fakenham, North Walsham, Stalham and Northrepps, so far, and still have plenty of awareness events lined up!

Thank you to everyone that stopped by at any of these to speak to us – it was fabulous to meet so many individuals and organisations from across the county.

We still have so many exciting events coming up, including Norwich Pride, Gorleston Festival, Worstead Festival, and more, so we hope to see some of you there!

Importance of Awareness Events:

Whilst awareness events may not raise money to support our services like fundraising events do, they are still vitally important and help us to reach out to people across our local communities.

It helps us to reach out to people who may not know much about our organisation or domestic abuse – after all, we know that it is still an issue that is not talked about nearly as much as it should be.

Increasing our visibility can help those that need our support to access our services, it could help us to recruit new volunteers, or could get new people involved with our exciting fundraising events.

By raising awareness of domestic abuse and the work that we do across the community, we hope that we can help to prevent domestic abuse and encourage people to access support at the earliest opportunity.

How You Can Help

We hope to attend many more events and festivals over the summer months so, if you see us at an event, why not pop over to say hello and find out more about what we are currently up to!

We also have lots of fun events throughout the year, including a footgolf event, mini run and dog walk all in the next few months. There is something for everyone, so why not have a fun summer day out with your family whilst raising money for a good cause.

Sharing our posts on social media also massively supports us, as it helps us to reach out to new people. We often share information about events, campaigns, and the services that we provide.
