At Leeway, we currently have over 20 volunteers who use their knowledge, skills and experience to support the work of our staff. Our volunteers help across a wide range of roles: in our offices, in our refuges and in the community. In 2017, our volunteers donated over 1,700 hours of their time. We are extremely grateful for the support of our volunteers and are looking for new volunteers to join our team!
New Opportunities in West Norfolk
We are looking for volunteers that will be able to help out at or run:
This kind of volunteering could be on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. An hour or two of your time could help provide opportunities for those in refuge to socialise with each other, enhance wellbeing, increase confidence and settle in to their new environment.
Fundraising and Events
We are always looking for volunteers to assist us in the running of events and to help in our Fundraising team. This could involve helping out on our stall at events like Norwich Pride, or helping in the running of events like our regular quiz nights or annual ball. Perhaps, you’d like to organise and run your own event to raise money for Leeway?

Recruitment Procedure
Due to the sensitive nature of our charitable work with people who have experienced domestic abuse, we have a thorough procedure in place for recruiting our volunteers. To join our team, you will need to complete an application form and have two references. Following an informal interview and Disclosure Barring Service checks (DBS), we have training courses and an induction process that our volunteers attend before joining a team.
If you’re interested in volunteering for Leeway, an application pack can be downloaded from our volunteering page on the website. Email any questions to volunteer@leewaynwa.org.uk.
