You may have seen on our social media channels that we have been running an Easter Campaign this year, collecting Easter Eggs for those we support in refuge and the community.
We were blown away by the support we received from businesses, organisations, and individuals, and wanted to thank everyone that supported our campaign.
Purpose of the Campaign
Just like our Christmas Campaign, we aim to spread some seasonal cheer to the people we support in refuge and the community. Many of our residents at refuge have left with very few personal belongings and buying something like Easter Eggs may be an afterthought.
It can be especially hard for children, who may have moved away from their friends and may not have as many toys or games that other children their age may have.
Your support makes a huge difference and, whilst it may seem very small, it means a lot to the people that we support.
Other Ways To Support
We know that it is not always convenient for everyone to physically drop items off, which is why we set up a year-round Amazon Wishlist.
The list contains items for our residents at refuge, as well as materials to allow us to do arts and craft activities, baking, and more! We are extremely grateful for the support the list has received so far and anyone wishing to support us in this way can find our list here.
Another way to support Leeway is through Easy Fundraising, which allows supporters to raise money for us at no extra cost when shopping online. It’s really easy to do – simply visit their website, search for Leeway, before browsing participating retailers and shopping as you usually would do! There is a wide range of places taking part and all money raised adds up, enabling us to enhance and sustain the services we provide.
